The annual Family Fishing Days in Freedom Park kicked off on Saturday with filled park full of families enjoying fishing, great food and a great time in the park. Our profound thanks to all the sponsors, donors, volunteers to put on this great event. Sunday is another day to come on down to enjoy, but here is some of the fun on Saturday, with our thanks to the Buffalo Challenger Newspaper for some of their photos.
Buffalo United Front is preparing to host our 18th Family Fishing Day, which is the largest in New York State, taking place Saturday June 28th and Sunday June 29th 2025 from 10am to 3pm at Freedom Park (foot of Ferry).
This free event is designed to bring together families from across the Greater Buffalo Niagara Region, for a fun-filled day of fishing, picnicking and games. In previous years we had hundreds of people and volunteers come to the event.As a proponent of unity and peace, The Buffalo United Front is devoted to our mission of uplifting core values and promoting healthy family development. We feel the more proactive things we teach our young people, the less trouble they get in. It is through support from businesses and people like you that allow this mission to be realized. We need your help to ensure the Family Fishing Days is eventful and enjoyable. Your in-kind donation or monetary support indicated in the areas below will move B.U.F. closer to providing our community with another fun, safe and memorable summer event for kids of all ages and their parents. Despite rain shortening this year’s Family Fishing Weekend to just this past Sunday, there was plenty of joy to shared between the families, fishing and plenty of food.

The rain that was forecast for Saturday, June 29, arrived as scheduled and has washed out Family Fishing Day activities for Saturday. Things look drier for Sunday and we hope everyone will join us for a great Sunday in the park full of fishing, good food and great people.

While the Family Fishing Days are for everybody, there will be a special emphasis on Fathers and Sons on Saturday, June 29th. In partnership with a number of organizations, Reimagine: I am the Change is presenting a community Fathers and Sons Day on Saturday with Fishing, Food, Fun and a bike ride with the East Side Bike Club
The annual family fishing days at Freedom Park (the former Broderick Park) are back for 2024. Bring the family down for two days of great food, fun and games, a variety of demonstrations and fishing contest. Join us in the park!
