East Side Bike Club

Cranksiving 2025

The Buffalo Bike community is made up of some of best people. Over 180 cyclists including a large contingent from the East Side Bike Club joined in GoBike’s annual Cranksgiving, the annual bike
scavenger hunt to collect shelf stable foods to donate to the efforts of Food Not Bombs, Provisions 139 and the Frank G. Merriweather Jr. Library Food Pantry.

4541 pounds of food was collected to help those groups care for our neighbors in these difficult times. We are glad the weather held out while all the riders safely made their collections and returned with such a great largesse.

Borrowing from the ESBC Ebike Library

Hey there, you want to try an Ebike! We just know you are a future EBike rider! ESBC can make that happen!

We’ve been buzzing about the ESBC EBike Library for a while… and now it’s finally happening! 🎉 The bikes are ready, the trails are calling, and free EBike lending kicks off on Monday, May 19th!

But first—you’ve gotta get certified!
Join us for the ESBC EBike Safety Class, held every Wednesday at 6:00 PM starting April 23, 2025.

The East Side Bike Club world headquarters is the place to make it all happen. A trip over 295 East Delavan Ave, Buffalo, NY 14208 will get you started.

East Side Bike Club is looking for volunteers

If you have ever been on one of the area’s many great group bike rides, each one, including East Side Bike Club, has a group of volunteers dedicated to insuring the ride is a safe one for everybody. These folks use their bikes and themselves to block intersections so the group ride can stay safe and together. In bike circles, this is referred to as corking the intersection so traffic flow is stopped and the bike ride can safely pass.

The East Side Bike Club is looking for some additional bike enthusiasts to join us on our rides starting in May as “Corkers.” If you’d like to get involved, ride with some great people, and see more of the city, contact our Program Coordinator, Chris Lawson at 716-316-5341.
